Cruising for a Cause
Cruising for a Cause, organized by Grounded Elegance Car Club (Michael Allred) and Brightside Gallery (Mary Murkin), will host the first cruising event of the season on April 24, 2021, from 8 p.m. to midnight. The theme of the evening will be “Taking it back to the 50’s!” Wear for your best 50’s garb and pull out those fuzzy dice to decorate your hotrods. We’ll be cruising up and down Fayetteville Street and listening to tunes provided by “Uncle Milty” on WZOO, 99.1 FM. Our cause for this month is to help the Randolph County Family Crisis Center. They are in great need of personal items for their clients. This includes things like towels, washcloths, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant and feminine hygiene products, as well as cleaning supplies for the shelter. The donation station for these items will be located in Northgate Commons parking lot (located at the north end of Fayetteville Street) and manned by Grounded Elegance. As always, these are equal opportunity cruising events. If it’s got wheels, come on out and join the fun! The more the merrier is the motto of the event organizers. For an evening of nostalgia and also making new memories, BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!
