Cruising for a Cause—September 25, 2021 Cruising for a Cause, organized by Grounded Elegance Car Club (Michael Allred) and Brightside Gallery (Mary Murkin), will host the sixth cruising event of the season on September 25, 2021, from 8 p.m. to midnight. We’ll be cruising up and down Fayetteville Street and listening to tunes provided by “Uncle Milty” on WZOO, 99.9 FM. Our cause for this month is the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen of Asheboro. We will be collecting a variety of goods for the center at our donation station in Northgate Commons parking lot (located at the north end of Fayetteville Street), manned by Grounded Elegance Car Club. Items requested by Our Daily Bread include: Sugar, cases of individual condiment packets (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salt, pepper), three-compartment Styrofoam disposable boxes, plastic forks and spoons, paper napkins, commissary sized cans of baked beans, green beans, corn, fruit, as well as dry goods like macaroni and cheese and rice. As always, these are equal opportunity cruising events. If it’s got wheels, come on out and join the fun! The more the merrier is the motto of the event organizers. For an evening of nostalgia and also making new memories, BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!
