If you are looking for a way to make a difference in someone’s life and give back to our community, we have the perfect opportunity! We need dedicated individuals to join us as patient volunteers.
Patient volunteers provide companionship to hospice patients at their home, in local skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, or at the Randolph Hospice House. These volunteers spend time sitting with patients, reading to them or watching a favorite TV show together.
Lisa Huffman, Special Events/Volunteer Manager shared, “Our patient volunteers provide companionship, emotional support and an extra hand to the patients and families we serve at Hospice of Randolph County. The love and care they give to these patients and families are indispensable.”
Those interested in becoming a patient volunteer are required to attend a special one-day training event on Friday, March 29, in order to learn more about the organization and valuable role of volunteers. The training session will be from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at our Administrative Office located at 416 Vision Drive in Asheboro. Lunch, as well as materials, will be provided free of charge. Pre-registration is required by Friday, March 22. To pre-register and schedule an initial interview, please call 336-672-9300 and ask for Dawn Stone (dawn.stone@hospiceofrandolph.org).
