Guild Emerging Artist Series Presents: The Final Legacy Concert Thursday, November 7 from 6-8 pm The Sunset Theater 234 Sunset Ave Asheboro, NC 27203 Doors open at 5:30 A legacy is both the end and the beginning of something, how the end invites the beginning of the next thing to enter in. In 2017 the Emerging Artist Series sought to serve as a way to both show off the talents of area songwriter in order to give them a platform to develop a full length show for an audience, as opposed to performing in a social scenario where music is not the highlight of the evening. In addition, the series has morphed into a broadened scope of musical expression in our community, demonstrating how music is part of our ever changing and collectively diverse culture. For our final Emerging Artist concert in November, we are excited to bring you four legendary performers, as a segue into one of our new concert series in 2020, the Zoo City Songwriters Round. Join Jack Gorham, Abigail Dowd, Mark Dillon and Kristen Leigh as they perform their works as an inspirational totem of this singer and songwriter series. As writers, performers, and teachers, music is their platform for connecting with the world around them. They believe in the importance of passing these traditions to other generations and cultures. This is why all ticket sales for this concert will go to support the Randolph Arts Guild Scholarship Fund, which helps to bring the arts and other cultural experiences to the youth of our community and to those who have limited to no access.
