Spring Music with Dawn Allred and Anne Honer, May 11, 2019, 1 to 4 p.m.

Brightside Gallery, 170 Worth Street, Asheboro, NC, will host its “Spring Affair” event on May 11, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. with a musical afternoon at the gallery featuring two of the area’s finest bowed psaltry players—Dawn Allred and Anne Honer. This talent-filled event is FREE and open to the public. About the musicians: Dawn Allred admits to playing piano and/or organ for over fifty years! Dawn is currently the organist for Rocky River Baptist Church in Siler City, NC. Dawn says she at first declined the offer to play the bowed psaltery until she realized it was just like playing the piano--sort of. Anne Honer thought any music she would play would be, in her father's words, "for my own amazement." But, she says, "the bowed psaltery is such an interesting instrument it is a shame not to share it." During this event, A Dream & A Wish Café will have freshly baked individual sized Strawberry Lemon Delight cakes for sale while supplies last. Make it a point to get one for yourself and some for your friends/family. Come out and enjoy a fantastic and yummy afternoon with these very talented local musicians at the coolest corner in town!
