Relaxing Chair Massages by Laurie Abela at Brightside Gallery, Sept. 20, 5 to 8 pm
Brightside Gallery, 170 Worth Street, Asheboro, NC is hosting chair massages (10 minutes for $10) provided by our very own outstanding massage therapist, Laurie Abela, on September 20, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the beautiful Back Parlor. Chair massage has ancient origins, with old Japanese block prints showing people being massaged while seated on stools. Chair massage is done when you are seated fully clothed, and focuses on your back, neck, shoulders, arms and hands. Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain, and muscle tension. Laurie is a graduate of Body Therapy Institute, and has been a massage therapist (#1775) since 1995. She has worked in salons, workplaces and the palliative care unit at Randolph Hospital. Laurie's primary goal is to support clients in their sense of wellbeing. Laurie had been a cardiac nurse for many years, and since transitioning to massage therapy she has evolved her business into a mobile one going into homes and businesses. Her at-home interests include growing organic food and herbs, making soap and keeping chickens. Stop in to visit Laurie....you'll be glad you did!
