Title: Information Night
When: 07.12.2012 4:00 - 6:00
Location: Randolph Community College, 629 Industrial Park Avenue, Asheboro NC
Description: Pfeiffer/University Center Information Night Set for July 12

Employees of Asheboro City Schools, Randolph County Schools and surrounding districts interested in earning a bachelor of arts in elementary education from Pfeiffer University through the University Center of Randolph County are invited to an information session from 4-6 p.m., on Thursday, July 12, in the Foundation Conference Center on Randolph Community College’s Asheboro Campus.

Since 2008, more than 20 new teachers from Asheboro and Randolph County Schools have earned their bachelor’s degrees from Pfeiffer at RCC after completing general education courses at RCC or another regionally accredited four-year or community college. The courses in the major are provided by Pfeiffer through a combination of traditional and online courses and videoconferencing. The new RCC cohort begins in August.

Representatives from Pfeiffer’s enrollment and financial aid departments will be on hand at the information session to assist with the enrollment process. Those who have not submitted application to Pfeiffer should bring a copy of their transcripts and, if possible, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online, www.fafsa.ed.gov.

“Offering classes to busy, working adults near their homes and jobs provides incentive to stay the course through graduation and the licensure process,” said Dr. Dawn Lucas, dean of the School of Education, Pfeiffer University.

“The Pfeiffer program at RCC has prepared me to be a great 21st century teacher,” said Meagan Goodwin, who graduated in May. “The small class sizes and proximity to home have made the process pleasurable and convenient.”

Pfeiffer also offers an M.S. in Elementary Education on RCC’s Asheboro Campus for which a cohort will start in January.
